Origin of Kerala Kho-Kho Association
Even Though Kerala Kho-Kho Association Established in 1972, The Kerala Kho-Kho Association (KKKA) was officially registered in 1989 under Registration No. 70/89. It serves as the recognized governing body for the sport of Kho-Kho in Kerala, operating under the supervision of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Kerala.
Since its inception, the KKKA has played a pivotal role in promoting Kho-Kho throughout the state. It has consistently organized tournaments, developed grassroots initiatives, and nurtured athletic talent at various levels. The association has also been actively involved in administrative structuring, including the establishment of district-level associations to expand the sport’s reach.

പതിനെട്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൻ്റെ അവസാനത്തിൽ മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിൽ സ്വതന്ത്യ്രസമരത്തിൽ മുഴുകിയിരുന്ന നേതാക്കൾക്ക് ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുവാനും സമ്മേളിക്കുവാനും കായികരംഗം ഒരു വേദിയായി. അങ്ങനെ രൂപം കൊണ്ടതാണ് ഇന്ത്യൻ സംസ്കാരം ഉൾകൊണ്ട ഖോ-ഖോ യും കബഡിയും. ഈ രണ്ടുകളികളും ഇന്ത്യൻ കളികളാണ്. ഇതിന് അന്ന് പ്രത്യേക നിയമങ്ങളോ, കളിസ്ഥലനത്തിന് പരിധികളോ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. പത്തൊൻപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൻ്റെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ ഒന്ന് രണ്ട് ജിംഖാനകൾ ഇതിന് ചില മാറ്റങ്ങൾ വരുത്തുവാൻ നേതൃത്വം കൊടുത്തു .
